Would be nice to see Stan there too. After all, it's (almost) his hometown!
Roger Federer hopes that Stan Wawrinka will play @LaverCup in Geneva: We won the Olympic title together. With a bit of luck we can be reunited again in Geneva. https://t.co/PD4jJoU52N

The doubles Stan and Roger played together were not just winning but a sight for sore eyes! It was just beautiful, the way they moved in unison at times, or to cover each other. Excellent, excellent it was. They got special coaching, didn't they? And then, they won the Olympic Games together!
It would be good to see them play together. I had an impression that there was some distance between them of late, due to some earlier things, and that friendship with the Serb. I might be wrong, but some people can be like that.
I hope they can regain some of that magic they had together. Must say that doubles is a special game on its own, and can be surprising and exciting, too.
Wonderful photos again! I, too, like the one on the dock with Roger pointing with his racquet. It is a good one among the other good ones. And if he has some longer term idea in mind, it would be really special, give a greater depth to the game and historical significance, as Rolex ads say.
Roger is in such a good position, to see what can be done, both in terms of philanthropy and for the sport and its fans. It is a unique outlook and access that he has earned.
Bravo, Roger!

Very enjoyable, well put together, and a wonderful way to celebrate tennis and the Laver Cup! Seeing Roger and Bjorn together is a treat, too. Something to like, respect and admire. Thanks for this video!!!

Twitter reporting that Stan will not play Laver Cup in September. Surprising. I thought he would be a Captain's Pick.

He would have been, but there is the matter of the appearance fee which is a set fee based on ranking after RG - Stan's agent thought that criteria should have been waived and that Stan didn't get the respect he deserved. While that is understandable, it does become a slippery slope and basically opens it up to players' demands. Anyways, Stan is playing St Petersberg in the same week - as well as many other top European players - Thiem for example. He will earn an appearance fee there and have the opportunity to try and defend his ranking points - semi = 90 points - which given where he is at the moment, also important.
Obviously management from Laver Cup and management from Stan Wawrinka couldn‘t agree on the fee, Laver Cup pays according ranking after RG and Stan is ranked far off! Relationship between Roger and Stan is fine“ via @staffsky https://t.co/YroMjU0MiO

^^^ Yeah, that's what I read too. But as you say, they can't just 'waive the criteria' and change the rules arbitrarily.

Given that Stan has been also so staunch in the Davis Cup titles, they certainly should have wanted him on the Laver Cup team!
