Re: RF Schedule 2020-2022
Thank you, Marly, for bringing this news here.
It's a bit of a surprise, though, as he had announced that he would play for - But I certainly understand that he has to make some difficult choices now a days. And for the better, if that means that we will continue to see him on the courts for a few more years!
The Tagesanzeiger (Swiss newspaper) had reported last week that Roger was going to have an important meeting with his team on Monday, not only to discuss Paris, but the type of meeting they have only twice year, to review basically everything: his schedule, training, practice, when he wants to peak and also the travel and time spent with his family. I guess this is where this decision to pull out of the ATP Cup came from, as well as the one about Paris.
I had just posted his calendar for 2020 (which I have now deleted) before reading this news!... Going back to the drawing board!

Re: RF Schedule 2020-2022
Today, Roger announced that he was withdrawing from the ATP Cup, which he was to play at the start of the new season. So, now it appears that Roger will start his 2020 season with the AO, with no previous prep tournament.
.@rogerfederer has announced that he will not play #ATPCup due to family reasons and therefore Switzerland has been withdrawn as a country that qualified at the first entry deadline.

RF Calendar for 2020 Season
Here is Roger's Calendar for the 2020 season, and it's a pretty full schedule already! It's rare to get a look at an almost complete schedule so early.
It's preliminary, of course, but all tournaments on this calendar have been confirmed one way or another by Roger, with a couple still undecided, hence the question marks. None-the-less, his schedule is always subject to change, and even more so when it's set that far ahead.
In 2020, many tournaments have a different starting date than in 2019. This is due to the addition of the ATP Cup at the start of the season, setting the start of the AO a week later, and then, of course, the Olympic Games in the summer have also set back the US Open, and the entire fall schedule, by one week.
Click the Calendar to view it in full size, or set your browser to full page - it will be clearer.

^^
I am very happy to see that Roger intends to play IW. I was keeping my fingers crossed and had no idea that he had already announced it.

Re: RF Schedule 2020-2022
During a media day with the press in Dubai last December, Roger (re)confirmed his schedule for 2020
"A priori, my calendar for 2020 would be the Australian Open, my exhibition match in South Africa against Rafa in Cape Town, Dubai, Indian Wells, Bogota, Miami, Roland Garros, Halle, Wimbledon, Tokyo Olympic Games, Cincinnati, US Open, Laver Cup, Shanghai, Basel and also the ATP Finals, if I am qualified”.
He added Miami to his list (was uncertain before), plus the Exho in Bogota, just before Miami, but no clay tournament before RG. (For details on the 2020 Bogota match, see the Latin American Tour thread.)
And now we have a confirmation from Miami Open that Roger has committed to defend his title this Spring.
The 2019 champion is in.

Re: RF Schedule 2020-2022
Do I understand correctly that there will be no participation in the Tokyo Olympcs? I trust Roger fully with his choices. If so, although a lot is made of an Olymic gold medal, let's remember that it is not eqaul to a GS title! Also. there is a greater security threat than ever in the world.

Slight revision to Roger's schedule!
This is just for the record, as I am pretty sure that everyone knows about the shocking news by now. But, hopefully, we will see an inform and refreshed Roger comes the grass season, namely in Halle.
I shall update his calendar... eventually!

Re: RF Schedule 2020-2022
I just found out a few hours ago and posted about it. I had no information, and thought that Roger did not participate in Dubai because of the pandemic, perhaps. I am glad to be able to return to this site, as I have missed Roger sorely and this site also.

RF 2020 and 2021 Calendars
I updated Roger's schedules for 2020 and 2021, so we can have a quick overview of Roger's timeline for the last two years... or nightmare, should I say, after three knee surgeries on his right knee!
2020 : Played only one tournament in 2020, the AO, before having two surgeries on his right knee. Note that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many tournaments were cancelled in 2020, so Roger didn't miss 'too' much.
2021 : Roger came back to the Tour in Doha after his two knee surgeries and played until Wimbledon. But his knee got worth during that period and after further examination and discussions with his doctors, Roger decided in August to have a third surgery to repair a torn meniscus on that right knee, and was not expected to return to competition before the Summer of 2022.
