RF:"I feel like I can add value to the team, but it's the captain who decides who's gonna play, maybe he judges somebody is  in better shape"

Brian‏ @camerlengo73  20m20 minutes ago
RF:"Wasn't playin much tennis since USO, lot of things in my body weren't right, feeling better now, make myself avlbl to play as (1)

Brian‏ @camerlengo73  19m19 minutes ago
(2) RF: much as requested by our team captain Bjorn Borg"

Not really reassuring those quotes...

Wow... I didn't realize these guys were coming to Prague so early. Starts Friday, right? I figured tomorrow at the earliest.

And yeah, Roger doesn't sound too confident does he? I wonder what "lots of things" weren't right in his body. I mean, we figured the back was still not 100% in NY but this sounds like Roger was struggling with all kinds of things. And maybe he's still not 100%. Ugh.. doesn't make me too confident for the rest of the year.

Ouch. No it doesn't sound right. But, I've been reliving those AO/IW/Miami matches. They were spectacular. May be we were being greedy to expect it to continue. He played really well in W and he trounced Sascha in Halle, too. I just hope he starts to feel better soon. I can't bear to see a sub par Roger take to the courts -that might hurt his body and his confidence.

I'm with ya. The Roger who "trounced" Sasha is Halle was not the Roger he played in Montreal. Roger has not been himself since Wimbledon. And it sounds like he still isn't/won't be. Ugh!

He is the full interview... Roger sounds much more positive live than those statements infer...  It's not that doom-and-gloom!  Smile

Thank you cromar for the interview. Yes, sounds a bit better but it also reveals how off his best he was at the USO. Probably wouldn't/shouldn't have played at all if it had not been the USO. Hopefully he can rest enough and let the others do the heavy lifting for the Laver Cup. I am very happy to hear that Mirka will be there to knock some sense into him if needed Laughing . Interesting to hear that the children speak Slovak.

Thanks for all the goodies and for starting this thread. I have been looking for it. I hope this Laver Cup will be a success since Roger worked so hard on launching it.

I saw the interview video yesterday and it made me feel a lot better. Taken in context, his words are not nearly as doom-and-gloom as they sounded just in text. *whew*

It's a nice thought Smile , but I think the children won't be there. In the interview, Roger said "the family won't be here, but my wife will join us for the weekend".
