From Simon Graf - June 11, 2022:
Today,@rogerfederer opened one of 31 nature-oriented playgrounds in Switzerland that
@rogerfedererfdn financed. 69 more will follow.
Remo Inderbitzin
I spoke to him about his comeback plans. He sounds optimstic: "I haven't planned more than the Laver Cup and Basel yet."
“After Basel, the season is over anyway. It's important for me to get fit again so that I can train fully. Once I've done that, I can choose how many tournaments I play and where. The Laver Cup is a good start, I don't have to play five matches in six days.”
“I will have be able to do that in Basel. That's why I have to prepare for it in practice. I'm curious myself what's still to come. But I'm hopeful, I've come a long way. I'm not far away. The next three or four months will be extremely important.”
Does he want to return to the tour in 2023, if his knee plays along? “Yes, definitely. How and where, I don't know yet. But that would be the idea. Definitely.”
He also spoke about Nadal’s victory: “I didn't watch the final, I watched the quarter-final (against Djokovic) a bit before I went to sleep. In general, it's just unbelievable what Rafa has achieved. The record of Pete Sampras, which I beat, was 14 Grand Slam titles.”
“Now Rafa won the French Open 14 times. That's unbelievable. I was happy for him that he did it again. Hats off to Rafa. After the tenth, eleventh time, I already thought: This can't be. He keeps raising the bar. It's gigantic.”

Re: RF Tennis News 2022
Sports Journalist weighs in on Roger’s comeback :
“ I think Roger Federer's attempt to return to play is truly commendable.
Although he is almost 41 years old, he is working hard to give himself one last ride on the circuit. He is asking a lot of himself, but he loves tennis and thinks it is worth it. Last year he tried a shy comeback, but he realized almost immediately that he was not in condition.
He had to withdraw from Roland Garros to protect his knee, he suffered a bad defeat against Aliassime in Halle and arrived at Wimbledon with a thousand doubts. Although he had all these problems, he still reached the quarterfinals on the London grass.
How long will he keep playing? It is not easy to answer this question. In my opinion he will play until next year's Wimbledon, unless there are further relapses. If the results don't live up to his name, his plans could change.
Anyway, I still see him on the court in 2023.”

Please let this be a false rumor...
I can't verify if the twitter reports are true...but the most recent information that supposedly came from Tony Godsick is now posted on TennisHead.net:
A setback in Roger Federer’s comeback casts doubt over his Laver Cup participation…
Roger Federer might not be fit in time to return to court at this month’s Laver Cup after further complications with his right knee.
According to Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger, the 41-year-old has run into more troubles in his recovery, forcing him to reduce his physical preparation, saying: “he has liquid in his right knee and it has become inflamed”
Tony Godsick confirmed that "Roger is trying very hard to train for the Laver Cup & Basel. He is experiencing significant pain in his right knee again...so he has had to take some more rest..."
So can anyone verify this "news"?

Re: RF Tennis News 2022
I read it on Tennis.com
https://www.tennis.com/news/articles/roger-federer-s-laver-cup-return-thrown-into-question
and was so saddened by it. I just can't see him coming back anymore. I'm not sure how he will say goodbye and I'm not sure I want him to come back. I do not wish him to re-injure himself or compromise his desire for an active life - skiing and playing soccer and tennis with his kids.
