I am thinking of going. I was in Geneva half a century ago, 1976, on my honeymoon Ha Ha Roger wasn't born yet, may be even before Lynette and Robert hooked up with one another. I fell in love with Geneva, lake Geneva, it's mountains and parks. I would be the very old but merry widow this time and would thank Roger for this opportunity.

Hi Marcia, Cromar and Federerworshipper,
I'm Felicity, long time forum fan but I seldom post.
Just want to say, I am also thinking of going to Laver Cup in Geneva, I'd love to join up with those who are going. Just wondering how to begin planning as I have never been to any live events? So I need a lot of guidance.
Thanks in advance. Happy AO watching!
Nice weekend everyone.

I'm also very much thinking of going to Geneva as well. So far, I haven't found anyone stateside to maybe go with, so I might just come myself. I haven't been back to Europe since 1999 when I worked in London for a time.
Marcia, I've been to plenty of live events stateside, including the Laver Cup in Chicago. So, I'm a bit out-of-my-element for planning a tennis trip outside the US. But I'm certainly interested in doing it. I would absolutely love to hook up with other folks who are going.

I would love to go. But I depend on 2 things:
- if I am working at that time;
- the cost of the tickets. I would love to go to Chicago, but the tickets left were extremely expensive. Now I am looking carefully to not lose the opportunity, if I am free to go.
And I love Geneva.

Re: Fans who plan to attend the Laver Cup 2019 in Geneva
I am definitively planning to go - it's my hometown! But will need to get some tickets first. They are going on sale in early February, as per the LC website:
They are 'Hospitality Packages' (with premium seating & food/drinks) available now, from CHF 4,000 all the way to CHF 12,000!! The cheapest packages at CHF 2,600 are sold out.
- Multi-session tickets, without hospitality, will go on sale early February 2019. Prices for multi-session (same seat for all 5 sessions over 3 days) will start at CHF 250 (1 Swiss Franc = approx. 1 US$)
- A limited number of tickets for individual sessions will be released at a later date, based on availability. Prices will start at CHF 25.
- You can register here to get notified when the tickets go on sale.

^^^ Looks like it's comparable pricing to Chicago. I did splurge and sit in the lowest section (without hospitality) there. I thought it was worth it. If I do end up going, I can honestly say that I'm not going to fly all the way to Geneva just to sit way up in the rafters.

Re: Fans who plan to attend the Laver Cup 2019 in Geneva
Thanks Cromar and others for replying. I am open to 1 session or multi-sessions offer, but I do have a budget.
I am flying from Canada and hope to explore Geneva as well either before or after Laver Cup event.
Sorry, if I may ask here, so do we all get tickets together first and then figure out how to fly over into the city and meet up? Please advise. I've never been to a live event with forum friends.
Great to see Roger playing so confidently in AO so far, I crave to see an in-form Federer win over an in-form Djoker!
Have a great Friday and weekend everyone.

Re: Fans who plan to attend the Laver Cup 2019 in Geneva
^^^ Felicity, if I go (like in Chicago), I would buy the 5-session package. That is all that will be available initially. Single sessions don't go on sale until later and it's only whatever is left. There won't be cheaper seats available by then.
Ideally you want to get tickets together. This is different than a regular tournament where you can sit anywhere you want except for the main stadium. At a regular tournament, it's easy to sit in your assigned seat just for Roger's match and then hook up with everyone for other matches. But this is 'assigned seats' for all sessions. In Chicago, the first session started at 1pm and we were there until at least 10pm both nights. Even the Sunday session ran like 6 hours. So you will be in those seats all day. I would much rather sit with at least one other RF fan.
Once the tickets are secured then you can work on the plane and hotel. Last year, me and Joan just got our hotel through the Laver Cup site.
But I'm with you, if I fly all the way to Geneva, I would certainly like to take a day or two on either side and check out the city.

Re: Fans who plan to attend the Laver Cup 2019 in Geneva
Thanks Steerpike for your reply. I've sent you a PM.
Anyway, I believe the presale is starting next Tuesday Feb 5th.
Are there any Fed fans going to Geneva for the Laver Cup?
Please PM me if you are interested.
I was rather gutted after the AO exit this year. I ache to see Roger play.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Yes, I am still interested, Felicity. I have sent you a PM.
The pre-sale starts on the 5th at 10:00 am CET, that means getting up really early for some of us, to catch the best tickets... Like 4:00 am for me!

I'm definitely still interested. Felicity, I never received your PM.
I'm not sure what time 10am CET is. I'm US central standard time.

I am also interested. I will depend on the price of the tickets (I would also buy the 5 sessions). If it is affordable, I will buy it, even if - at the last minute - I cannot go. In that case I would try to sell it back.
