RACE to the Nitto ATP Finals
Tsitsipas joins Djokovic in qualifying for the ATP Finals. With Nadal out for the rest of the season, the other qualifiers, as it stands now, would be Medvedev, Zverev, Rublev, Berrettini, Ruud and Hurkacz, but there are still many points to play for and several other players in contention!
Sinner is next in line and he is still playing at the US Open, whereas Hurkacz and Ruud have already lost.

RACE to Turin
Yes, Rosaline, and Berrettini was just confirmed today. So, the top six players in the Race have now qualified and that leaves only two spots up for grab (excluding Nadal who is out for the season). The fight for a ticket to Turin amongst the last few contenders is bound to intensify for the next three weeks. Only 215 points separate Ruud, Hurkacz, Norrie and Sinner.
BERRETTINI TO PLAY NITTO ATP FINALS ON HOME SOIL IN TURIN
25-year-old is first Italian to qualify for Turin
25 October 2021 - By ATP Staff
taly's Matteo Berrettini will make his second Nitto ATP Finals appearance after becoming the sixth singles player to qualify for the 2021 season finale, to be held at the Pala Alpitour in Turin from 14-21 November.
The 25-year-old secured his return to the year-end championships for the first time since 2019 when he reached the Erste Bank Open second round on Monday. This year marks the first edition of the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, following a 12-year stint in London.
“My words aren’t going to describe the happiness I feel in my heart,” said Berrettini. “2020 was a tough year for me on and off the court. Here I am about to play my second [Nitto ATP] Finals and I can’t believe it. I always have to remember where I started. I didn’t dream about this, because it was so big, but now it’s happening. I want to do my best.
“When they were telling me in 2019 that the Finals would be in Turin, I remember the mayor of the city told me, ‘I’ll see you in Turin’. And I was, ‘Yeah, right’. Then I qualified for London and now I am qualifying for Turin. I really cannot describe how happy I am. I hope the country is really proud of me."
Berrettini joins Russian Andrey Rublev and four former Nitto ATP Finals champions in the Turin field: World No. 1 Novak Djokovic of Serbia, US Open champion Daniil Medvedev of Russia, Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev of Germany. Two singles places remain up for grabs in the final three weeks of the regular ATP Tour season.

Pretty amazing kid!
Carlos Alcaraz has broken into the Top 20, rising to No. 20 today after winning the title in Rio.
At 18 years and 292 days, he's 13 days younger than Nadal was when HE broke the Top 20 on April 4th, 2005 (at 18 years and 305 days).
Federer and Djokovic were 19 when they did it.

Re: 2020/2021 ATP Rankings & Rules
Roger's at 26 yes, but I don't see him in the Race rankings so perhaps that's what whoever meant?
Note that ND is around 130 in the singles Race as he''s only played one tourney this year according to those stats..

Yes Roger is indeed now No.44 in the standard rankings. How much lower can he go?

Roger will have no ranking points when he returns since he has ruled out Wimbledon.

His last points to drop are 600 points from W2019. That will happen on July 11 of this year.
However, he will be able to use a protected ranking for entry purposes. Note that this ranking does not protect him in the draw, it simply gets him in. He will be able to rebuild his ranking by participation in tournaments in a similar way to Murray which is probably a good model to look at. It will be hard!!
