Good point, Darktemplar, but let's keep it between ourselves! They need to be motivated.
It looked exciting, even just from the scores: Roger won very emphatically. Reminds me of those days, when, after winning the Wimbledon in 2003, the first GS trophy, he went on soaring, as his coach, Lundgren said. That really was unprecedented, together with his ranking record. Then, anybody who had or would defeat him once, would not be able to do it again.
This is what it felt like now. Bravo, our Roger!

^^^^^ You're on fire, DARKTEMPLAR. They should pay homage to the genius of The Maestro.
What makes me laugh is the stupidity of comments like "he moves so well at the age of 37". It is blatantly clear that he moves so well - full stop. Do any of the others move as well? Play like this? The answer is "no". PfffffffffffffffT
Roger delivers with aplomb. Just outstanding stuff. Grace and top of top drawer quality in every aspect. He oozes finesse.
What a treat for all there and us. What a privilege.
Poor attitude from Nicky & his captain. No surprises there. But I am too happy to pay too much attention to these twits.
WHOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEE!

Really? That is unfortunate. For some reason I thought that the last match they played had undertones of appreciation in it, if not joy for losing. But now they, captain/surely not J Mc? and Nick, behaved badly? That is not the tenor of this event.

I am feeling veeeeery, veeeeery kind and generous as a result of Roger's superb performance. In fact, positively charitable. So I think we, Team Europe should give a match to Team World. I would not mind at all if Djokovic lost to Kevin. It would make things more interesting, and Kevin s a sweetie. And Djokovic would get a spanking.....
After that Team Europe can win in the doubles.
Goooooooooooooooo! Kevin!!!
I, the oracle, have spoken.

Such high-minded kindness I could live with! I had two posts, with mine appearing above the one I was responding to because the lines crossed as others were writing messages, I guess. So what I said about kindness refers to Inspired's comment.

Oh my. I have no time to participate of the celebrations! Roger is fantastic, was fantastic, Djokovic was in awe (owe?) - a bit jealous, I presume - Laver was "bouche bée", and I/WE am/are happy!!!!! wohooooooo!!!!!
Did I resume? See you later, I hope I'll have time to participate.

Well, I'm off and hope that Team Roger keep a good lead. For those able to watch the rest of Day 2, have fun!
I leave you with a snippet from an article posted on the Laver cup site. There is a stunning picture of Roger in it but unfortunately I could not copy it.
MASTERSTROKE: FEDERER LIFTS TEAM EUROPE TO A 7-1 LEAD
By Piers Newbery
Published on September 22, 2018
Roger Federer produced a masterful display against Nick Kyrgios to give Team Europe a 7-1 lead over Team World after Saturday’s afternoon session at Laver Cup 2018.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion won 6-3 6-2 at Chicago’s United Center to extend Europe’s lead as they chase down the 13 points that will retain the Cup..........Federer drove home the advantage in brilliant style, a succession of flourishing winners drawing gasps around an arena once used to watching Michael Jordan in his NBA pomp.....

That is a uniquely lovely photo of Mirka and Roger. All harmonized, too, but in a sophisticated way. It is always so pleasing to see happy marriages.....there is a saying that there are no spoons without knocking together sometimes....but happy in terms of fitting, united, caring long term for each other, their children and families.
