Roger will start his 2019 season in Perth again, just like this year.   Sunny

Federer has won the past two Australian Open titles after beginning his season in Perth and hopes to start 2019 in a similar winning fashion.

“I’m very excited to be coming to the Hopman Cup again in 2019 and trying to defend my title with Belinda Bencic,” the 20-time Grand Slam champion said.

“We had a wonderful week. I took a quokka selfie. Western Australia has treated me super well, you, the fans, have been amazing.

“Perth Arena is a wonderful place to start the new year and it’s obviously the perfect preparation for the Australian Open and it worked so well the last couple of years, I can’t wait to come back.”

Roger has said during this year's LC interviews that a decision about clay on 2019 will be made by December.

This is from an unofficial source, saying that Roger is thinking about playing some clay in 2019  Happy... But it looks like we may have to wait until later in the season to get a final decision. Although, no doubt, he will be asked about it at every upcoming press conferences! Wink Gif

That is wonderful news camerlengo! Promising, indeed. I saw that CNN had an article on Nadal and his 2018. his ankle operation, which I didn't know about. Now he is practicing and talked about the floods on Mallorca. It was bad news weatherwise, floods, fires, volcanoes, draught, all this more than usual.
I confess that I find CNN does not talk much about men's tennis, but certainly more about Nadal and Djokovic. However, just saw that WTA association is making ranking changes for preganancy etc, in terms or rankings, and that Serena's RG suit is no infraction.

I would love, because RG is more or less "home". Not too expensive, and I normally go to Paris at that time of the year. But I am being absolutely selfish, I know how hard to the body can be spending hours at a clay court.

What do we, I mean anyone else, know about the other players" There seemed to be attention paid to Nadal and Djokovic. I wonder about Stan, etc. and others.

This year, Roger is not scheduled to play in Rotterdam in February, but he will play Dubai! Smile
