Re: Wimbeldon 2022
I did end up watching some of it because of our Canadians. I saw some of Alcaraz today as well. Seems fine-- is all I can say!
But, the reason I'm posting is because I was so pleased to see Rolex airing the ads with Roger in them. SO beautiful to see him there.

Re: Wimbeldon 2022
What a despicable display by Kyrgios today. I've been warming to him a bit as he is a brilliant player but his behaviour today was disgraceful. I know Tsitsipas has his faults but he was trying to keep his concentration and I think he could have won. A more fiery opponent might have hit Kyrgios with more than a ball. Umpire should not have put up with the abuse either.

Is that the only picture we are going to see? I was hoping for Taylor Fritz

Happy for the Kasakstan kid .. sorry for Ons.
The mens .. Big sigh, can never count on Krygios. He is just a circus act..

Re: Wimbeldon 2022
Well Wimbledon is over for another year. Some wonderful tennis but some controversy. Should the Russian and Belarussian players have been banned; should Kyrgios have been defaulted against Tsitsipas; should Nadal have defaulted at match point? All hard questions to answer. I hoped Ons would have won but her opponent played well and I didn't want Djokovic to win but didn't want Kyrgios either. Hopefully next year all the players will be back and we will get to see Roger again. I know his chances of winning another GS are very slim but just to see him play again will be wonderful.

Re: Wimbeldon 2022
I'm assuming Djokovic can't play USO and probably AO as well. I sincerely hope some of the youngsters start doing better- but I feel I have been saying that for the last 10 years.
It is hard for me to understand myself with regards to my attitude to Djokovic. I don't detest him anymore but I am left completely unmoved by his style of tennis- however good he may be.

I hope the youngsters start doing better IN MY LIFETIME, pffffffffffffft it is really frustrating. In women's tennis, each slam has a youngster winning. Learn boys, Learn.

Further to the Kyrgios issues, there's this in one of our papers today:
https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/tennis/nick-kyrgios-mother-andy-murray-b2120175.html
Now I see this, I do remember something about it in the past. But it does raise an issue.
Should other players treat K with extreme delicacy, compassionately excusing or ignoring his outbursts as he is vulnerable and must not be caused distress? Is this why umpires seem to have been kind to him? Should we castigate Tsitsipas for getting upset and complaining that K "is a bully"?
Or should other players not be expected to be social workers and therapists but be allowed to play normally?
K showed no sympathy or respect for Stef, rejected any suggestion he himself was a bully.
It is sad, as his mother says. But it is also putting a very unfair burden on other players and how are tennis authorities expected to deal with this?
Oh dear oh dear. Very difficult as Nick is very gifted as a tennis player and when playing without tantrums is a joy to watch. But ,..
