The Match in Africa 6 will open with a Pro-Celebrity doubles match, at 19h30, followed by entertainment and the main feature match starting at 20h30. Gates to the Stadium will open three and a half hours before the start of the event (16h00) and close one hour after the completion of the feature match.

Roger is probably planning to visit some of his Foundation school projects. Namibia would be a new fieldtrip destination for Roger, I believe. He has been in Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia and South Africa.

Covering a vast area of 825,418 km2 with barely 2.3 million inhabitants in 2012, the Republic of Namibia is a virtual desert located on the southwestern tip of the African continent. With under three inhabitants per square kilometre, Namibia is one of the least densely populated countries of the continent.

In Namibia, 87% (or 256,000) of children aged 0-4 do not attend integrated ECD programmes and 60% (or 74,000) of children of pre-primary school age are not in preschool education in Namibia. (Source: UNESCO EFA Country Profile 2014).


Start of a new ECD initiative in Namibia

For more than three years, the Roger Federer Foundation has been active in Namibia to strengthen the quality of early childhood education in vulnerable communities. In line with the Sustainable Development Goal 4.2, for the next seven years, the Foundation will be focusing on the significant change in life before the transition to primary school.
