Re: RF Tennis News 2021
Hi all,
The book is 408 pages long and I am on page 190. It is an excellent read. The first pages are about Roger's tempestuous youth and it really is worth reading- so that our adoration can grow even stronger!
Chris Clarey rights with a great blend of admiration and honesty. I have just reached 2005 were Rafa enters the scene. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that any reference to Rafa is more bearable today because of 2017 and after!
I highly recommend this book - having read everything that has been published about Roger and watched practically every match he played from 2001 onwards, and listened to innumerable pressers etc etc.

Update on The Master by Chris Clarey.
I finished the book today. And, I stick to my first opinion- really well written- with so many insights into the various players in Roger's life.
I have to say that I could not read the part about the W 2019 final. I know it had to be there but I couldn't bear to! However, it ends with the beautiful Match for Africa - so that was a good thing.

Márcia, The book is available on Amazon.com in hard cover or Kindle format. The Portuguese edition on the BR site is reasonably priced, but someone seem to be gauging on the English version! You may want to check the US site, the hard cover is at half-price ($ 18).

I'm reading The Master now; it is good and I recommend it. By the way, do we know whether Roger has had his surgery? I would have thought he would have had it quickly.

Re: RF Tennis News 2021
I would think so too. Seeing that Roger wasn't there with his parents at the recent RF Foundation event in Basel (see 'Golf for Africa' post in that thread) would suggest to me that he was 'physically' disabled! But I haven't seen any news about his surgery yet...
As for the book, Christopher Clarey seems pretty proud and excited about it. It's number 8 on the 'nonfiction' list, Roger's fav number!

Hardcovers are expensive, but Roger really deserves something more lasting than a paperback, for the long run!

Re: RF Tennis News 2021
Titling the book "The Master" was a bold move- in the era of the BIG THREE and on the eve of a possible Grand Slam from Djokovic!
Here are Chris Clarey's thoughts on the GOAT
https://www.tennis.com/news/articles/tennis-com-podcast-christopher-clarey-all-encompassing-new-book-federer-master
Clarey joined Kamau Murray this week on the TENNIS.com Podcast to discuss what went into this very detailed project, also sharing his thoughts on the Big Three and tennis as a whole. On the topic of the Big Three, the author makes it clear his thoughts on the GOAT debate.
"Greatest is a strange word... it could mean things that are not necessarily between the lines" Clarey states, citing the amount of eyeballs, business, and pleasure someone brings to the sport as an example. "If you look at it like that, Roger's still in the lead... if you're talking about inside the lines, I have to go with Novak."

I hope nobody's getting tired of my links to interviews with Chris Clarey about the book. I'm enjoying these so much- so I thought I'd share.
And, cromar- thank you for tidying up my postings- I don't have the technical skill!
So here is another one

Here is 'some' news from Brian. Nothing too specific, but good to know it is done.
He also added: "Hearing there will be a calendar again for 2022!"
ROGER!
