Roger is on the entry list for Madrid!! Fingers crossed!

Although we haven't heard a bip from Roger lately, the fact that he withdrew from Rome (his name has been taken off the list) but is still on the Madrid list, must mean that he indeed plans to play at the Caja Magica.    Let's hope so!

Good memory from the Caja Magica! Come, Roger, light up the Caja Magica. Just you on that surface will add an air of celebration to the events. Speak up, fellow Forum members!

According to WeLovetennis on Twitter,  Roger is also playing Geneva! Hopefully we get some official news soon!

Great news. We will see Roger on court and probably speaking a lot of French in a month. I am tired of the brutal tennis being played nowadays. We shall wait.

First time I saw Roger live, RG 2012! What an experience.

First time, it was magic. But second time also, and third, and fourth and every moment I could see Roger playing live. A bless.

Can't wait to see Roger play in Geneva. Wish I could be there... my hometown!  But it's a beautifull city, none-the-less!  

Hopefully, Roger will be fully fit by then.

Here are some statements from Severin Luthi as reported by Swiss Radio SRF3 (in German) on April 25, 2021:

Roger has been back in training following his brief return in Doha. “Tennis practice sessions are very intense and good, but are not taking place that often yet like it would be in a tournament environment. In terms of fitness, Roger still has some deficits, we need to focus on this. Roger is a very good listener, that's important. But I see us coaches more as consultants. In the end, he decides on the court."

This year, the ATP Geneva tournament takes place mid-May, just one week before the French Open, and will be one of the rare premiers for Roger: He will compete in the Geneva Open for the first time. Lüthi is happy: "It is always special for us to play in Switzerland."

I can't tell what's going on with Roger and his team.  It sounds like Roger isn't ready (or fit?) to compete.  Maybe he's just showing up in Geneva and Paris to say au revoir?  He's played 2 matches in 16-18 months.  Maybe he's enjoying his retirement.

Big mistake to do anything with that old Robert de Niro who pretty much yells at everyone.  Who is making these decisions in Roger's camp.  If he is retiring, I'd rather see him go out on a high positive note.  Not with an old, short Hollywood actor who hasn't made a good film in years.

I so hope you are wrong, dear wcr.
