Re: 2018 ATP Rankings & Schedule
I am preparing the chart for Halle/London, with the Seeding Points for Wimbledon, but what I can already say is that Roger will be seeded No 1 at Wimbledon, no matter what happen in Halle. Roger has a huge grass bonus of 2790 points for his past results on grass. And he could add a bit more at Halle.
Nadal will be the #2 seed, then Zverev and Cilic should be #3 and 4, or #4 and 3, depending on their performance this week at Halle and London respectively. Cilic has a great bonus of over 1400 points.
Murray would have a good grass bonus (1860 points), but unfortunately only the top 32 players can be seeded at Wimbledon. As he is ranked 151 right now, he won't be seeded.
More details coming with the Chart.

I hope you are right but a Tweet on this forum says He has to win his 10th Halle according to ATP calculations.

Yes, Roger has to win Halle to retain his No. 1 ranking, but here I was talking about seeding at Wimbledon, which is based on ATP Rankings, plus a grass bonus.
Even if Roger goes back to No. 2 after Halle, he will be seeded No. 1 at Wimby as he has a much greater Grass bonus than Nadal (2790 points vs 180 for RN).

Re: 2018 ATP Rankings & Schedule
I finally got around to finish this chart, just before the end of the tournaments!
But this will give you an overview of what has happened so far and what the final Ranking tally may look like (Blue section). It also shows the 'Grass points' for Wimbledon seeding (Green section), which include the Grass bonus, as well as a list (below the chart) of the projected 32 Wimbledon seeds, in seeding order.
Seeding at Wimbledon will be determined by next Monday ATP Ranking points, plus the grass bonus accumulated over the last two years. (100% of the points won on grass over the last 12 months, plus 75% of the best result in the year previous to that).
We all know that Roger needs to win Halle to retain his No. 1 ranking, but the good news is that, no matter what, Roger will be seeded #1 at Wimbledon, as he has a huge grass bonus.
Coric, who was the last seeded player, just moved up to #28 with his QF win today in Halle. Cecchinato is now the last seeded player.
Good for Raonic to hold on to his No. 31 ranking in order to be seeded at Wimby, as he has a great grass bonus. He will be seed #13... that is if he plays! (he withdrew from Queen's with a Shoulder injury).
There are still a couple of rounds to be played in Halle and London, with six of the Wimbledon seeds still in action, but it shouldn't have much of an impact on the seeding:
- Roger #1 and Cilic #3 will retain their current position, no matter what.
- Djokovic #14 could move to #12 if he gets to the Final and #10 if he wins London.
- Similar for Bautista Agut #15: Could move to #14 with a Final and #12 with a win in Halle.
- Coric #28 would benefit the most from a further win: #25 if he gets to the Final and #18 with a win.
As discussed earlier in another thread, Murray won't be seeded at Wimbledon, as players must be in the top 32 of the ATP rankings in order to be seeded. Only then can the grass bonus be applied. It's too bad, as Murray's grass bonus would have put him in the 20th position on the seed list. Alas, he is ranked No. 154!
There will be a few dangerous floaters at Wimby... The draw promise to be fun (Roger's talk!)

Re: 2018 ATP Rankings & Schedule
Roger lost 2,000 (W) minus 360(QF) = 1,640 points at Wimbledon while Nadal gained 720 (SF) minus 180 (R16) = 540 points So 8,720 minus 1,640 =7,080 for Roger and 8,770 + 540 =9310 for Nadal on Monday...
Prior to Wimby:
# 3 Alexander Zverev : 5,755
#4 Juan Martín del Potro: 5,080
#5 Marin Čilić: 5,060
So I assume Roger's #2 is safe for now.

Thank you! Another question. All the sites saying Nadal is so far ahead in the race to London too. How can Roger gain points for that? Thank you.

Re: 2018 ATP Rankings & Schedule
The Race is straightforward... He just has to win matches!
Every point won in 2018 gets added to the Race (no defending points, nothing): Currently Nadal has 5760 points and Roger 4020.

Re: 2018 ATP Rankings & Schedule
From what I read, Roger should be the number #2 seed at Cincy UNLESS Del Potro reaches at least the final of his next scheduled event at Los Cabos and wins Toronto. Sascha is defending champion at Canada, so he can't pass Roger.

^^
Isnt not playing going to affect his Race to London. Seems Roger is not worrying about anything.

Re: 2018 ATP Rankings & Schedule
Of course, striker, by not playing Toronto, Roger is missing an opportunity to add points to his RACE tally, but he won't lose points.
I wouldn't worry though, with 4020 points and having won a GS, there is little doubt that Roger will qualify for the WTF.

Yeah, he'll qualify for the WTFs. If you win a major, you basically qualify as long as you stay in the Top 20.

The Final in Toronto is on Sunday Aug. 12 - The draw for Cincy will take place on Friday Aug. 10, which means that Cincy will be using the rankings of Monday Aug. 6 (after Washington/Los Cabos). So, Toronto doesn't come into play and Roger is guaranteed to be seeded #2 in Cincy.
The real question is whether he will be seeded #2 at the US Open. Obviously it will depend of his result at Cincy, and that of a few others! I'll try to answer that question in more details later on.
