Re: 2018 ATP Rankings & Schedule
The 'Round-by-Round Chart' for the US Open 2018
To follow the top 20 players, points by points, throughout the Championship.
Roger could clinch the No. 1 ranking if he wins the and Nadal doesn't reach the semi-finals.
Otherwise, Roger is expected to remain No. 2 after the US Open, unless Del Potro or A. Zverev wins the title and Roger doesn't get to the 3rd round. In that case, Roger would move to No. 3.

If I read it correctly, Roger would fall to #3 if Delpo or Sascha won AND Roger failed to make the 3rd round. Roger made the 4th round so I'm guessing he will remain #2 even if Delpo were to win.

If Nole wins today, Roger will be qualified for the WTF!
And if Delpo wins the tournament, RF would still be 2nd but he would only have 120 points ahead

I guess that is another reason to cheer for Djoker whether Delpo wins today or not. And at this point, Roger staying in the Top 4 by year's end would be a good result considering he's defending Shanghai, Basel, and a semis at the WTFs. He basically has zero wriggle room since he didn't defend all his Wimbledon points, his Cincy results just replaced his Canada points from last year, and he didn't defend all his points from NY.

"London here we come!"... Both Roger and Novak have qualified for the London Finals!
"Del Potro is the next in line to qualify for the 2018 Nitto ATP Finals, which would mark his first appearance at The O2 in London since 2013. Alexander Zverev of Germany, Croatia’s Marin Cilic, Kevin Anderson of South Africa and Austria’s Dominic Thiem hold down the fifth through eighth spots in the ATP Race To London."

>As of today Roger has fallen to no4 on the Race to London. Can he fall further down? I also read because of Novaks win he can take the no1 spot>>>Which will knock out Rafa but what will happen to Roger. He is not many points ahead of Novak. I know I worry more about it then Roger!!! LOL Thanks

What place will Roger finish this year?
Do you think Rafa will play again this year?

Wow No one here since last month. I just read that DelPotro has made the Finals. I wonder what that will do to Rogers placement. More points more advantage.

It's interesting to note that other than Roger, the other three semi-finalists from last year's WTFs won't be there. Goffin has already ended his year and both Dimitrov and Sock will not qualify. They'll lose a ton of points. Ugh... still hurts to think about Roger not taking advantage of a WTF title last year. Such a mega-lost opportunity there.
As for what seed Roger will be for the WTFs? Who knows? Roger is defending both Shanghai and Basel so he can easily drop points. I think it's safe to say that Rafa, Djoker, and Delpo will all be seeded higher than him.

Even if he doesn't this week, he most likely will very soon. Djoker will probably end the year #1. Hopefully Roger will stay in the Top 4 at year's end.
