Very sad.... He was playing so well!! And what are we going to do in the meantime!?

Have a good and speedy recovery, Rog!!!

And may Tennis give you all your wishes on court when you come back!

Not watch much tennis for me.  Unless the next-gens do some damage and stop Djoker and Rafa from cleaning up.

That is the million dollar question isn't it?

I guess the positives are that it doesn't sound like this is a meniscus tear like his left knee, so he may be practicing normally by May and be ready for grass in June.  Also, he will be well rested mentally too.

Of course the flip-side is that Roger will have zero real matches and he might be a bit careful like he was when he initially came back from the left knee, and then ended up calling it a year.  Let's hope that doesn't happen.  Anyway, like I said, he'll be coming back to grass being rested mentally too, and he loves Wimbledon, but he's going to be bombarded with bad memories from last year.  Let's face it, that match is going to be thrown in all our faces come June.

Should make for an interesting tournament, that's for sure.

Overall, I don't have much hope for 2020 season. Slam wise though, I feel he should have more chances - if any at all - for USO than W. At least he will not be burned out by the time USO comes around. I just hope he doesn't rush his return like last time. Just needs to take it slow this time and only play the tournaments that really matter.

Get well soon champ!

^^^ No doubt this puts a big damper on 2020 and with his age, we know opportunities are already few and far between.  I suppose he may have 1 or 2 more chances at majors but I admit my optimism took a huge hit last June.

We'll just have to hope for the best for Roger.  And really hope Djoker and Nadal don't clean up.

I kept hearing about Nadal and his injury prone knees and last I looked, Roger has had surgeries on both knees and Nadal on zero. Whose injuries should we have heard about?

This is tough news. At his age, you never know how well he will play again and be able to challenge for titles. I hope he has a great recovery and plays and enjoys the rest of the season but I feel the end is nigh, unfortunately. If only he had won Wimbledon last year; I'll have nightmares about that for ever and I can't imagine how he felt. I am planning to go to Indian Wells in 2 weeks but may not go now Crying.

Although Roger is my One and Only I loved tennis before he began to play and I have continued to enjoy Tennis even when he doesn't play. The fact that Canada has some interesting youngsters is helpful and that there are others like Tsitsipas and Sinner who are fascinating as well. I always buy my IW tickets in August so I will go. I will wear my RF cap and my RF t-shirt. I am sure I will see many others like me. Roger will be remembered even if he is away.

You are  quite right,  ph∞be, there is still some good tennis to be watched. And IW is set in such a nice surrounding, with permanent Sunny , it must be a very enjoyable experience (I never been there myself).  Will watch for the RF caps and T's on TV!  Smile

Me also, I love tennis, and there are some players I am happy to follow. No one is Roger, no one will come close to him. But this is not a reason for me to stop watching a sport I love, since the first time I saw Ashe playing at Wimbledon.
