RF Tennis News 2020

I've seen some social media posts and a few articles saying that Roger has gotten his RF logo back, but I've seen nothing from Roger or anything that seems official.  The originating tweets just seemed like fan comments that some media have picked up.

It's official: Roger now owns his logo!




The 'rumour' started yesterday with a tweet from fan of the tennis man @sliceandvolley who posted a copy of the United States Patent and Trademark Office registration showing that as of March 4, 2020 the new owner of the RF trademark was TENRO AG, Bottmingen/Switzerland. Since then, the news has been picked up by several media, including major Swiss newspapers and TV (RTS).

TENRO is the company that handles Roger's affairs - it manages his website, for example.

A check of the Swiss Registry for IP shows that the transfer occurred on Feb. 19, 2020 already (see below). Quite surprising that the Swiss media didn't pick it up, but the concurrent news of Roger's surgery must have overwhelmed everyone.

Sigh of relief. very happy for Roger and for us fans, that he got his logo back.  

The corona virus is the scariest thing I have ever seen in my lifetime. Life got so complicated all around the world. I am so glad Roger is safe with his family and not trotting around the globe at present. . I am sad but not surprised Indian Wells was cancelled. I worry about Roger's Laver Cup and the Olympics ... I have booked a flight and a cruise out of Florida months ago for the end of March to celebrate my retirement. Now I am afraid to go.. these are difficult times.

The problems pile up quickly, don't they. How fast things can fall apart! I wish the world safe deliverance from this endemic. It is our global and connected nature that can cause a highly contagious, albeit not as dangerous a pandemic, as say, the Black Death, that is a multiplier factor that affects lives, and the economies.
 It is clear though that everyone must cooperate.Stay safe, everyone!

Yay for the RF logo!!

Glad the logo is back where it belongs. With the tennis tour suspended, everyone is going to be rusty when Roger comes back which is the only good thing I can see. It's amazing how far and quickly this has spread.

Home Practice in Valbella for Roger

Roger is obviously spending his 'isolation' time at his home in Valbella. This picture shows the practice wall he built at the back of his alpine chalet (a 'big' chalet, mind you!).
